Department of Electronics & Comm. Engineering

INTRODUCTION:

The department started functioning in 1997 with the first batch of students admitted to the m.Tech programme in Electronics Design and Technology. This programme has been designed with an aim to meet the industry requirments in the field of Electronics Design with emphasis on latest technology developments. From August 2004, the department has started a new programme "M.Tech in Bioelectronics" approved by the UGC under its innovative programme "Teaching and Research in interdisciplinary and emerging area". The cources designed with the interdisciplinary relevance, aim at producing professional in the field of medical, food safety, agriculture, defence, biotech and biosensor industries. Both M.Tech courses have been recognized by the AICTE. The department has started its B.Tech programme in Electronics And Communication Engineering from August 2006. A career oriented programme "Advance Diploma in Healthcare Informatics and Management" supported by UGC has been started by the department from Sep'2012. It is a DST-FIST, DeiTY-MIT and UGC-SAP supported Department.

2. To impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels in all the areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

3. To inculcate a perceptive alacrity to observe, identify real life problems, formulate strategies for solution and evolve contextually effective solutions.

4. To deliver theoretical base, advanced technological concepts, teamwork spirit, ethics, human values, practical base, research and development to the students, extension activities to other organizations through creation of advanced facilities and providing platforms for synergy.
