Introduction :


The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) has started with the objective for promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development, innovation and creative ideas. In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors) leading to unemployment problems and lack of proper utilization of human resources; the CIIE strives to identify talented youth and motivate them to entrepreneurial and innovation works. The centre plans to develop various innovative ideas with the students and local youth.

Objectives

The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship was established in September 2013 which was merged with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) initially funded by AICTE. The objectives of the cell are to:

  1. Creating awareness among the students of the University and the educated unemployed youth of North east India regarding entrepreneurship as a career option.

  2. Conduct training programmes in the field of entrepreneurial skill development.

  3. Develop entrepreneurship related course curriculum to incorporate in management and engineering programmes.

  4. Provide guidance and facilities to first time entrepreneurs during gestation.

  5. To explore the possibility of commercialization of some of the potential technologies developed by faculty members and students of TU.

  6. To form a Technology Development group in TU from enthusiastic passed out students of TU and thereby motivating for self employment.
