Branch allotment will be made as per merit in the JEE (main) examination:
Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech Programmes are required to be qualified in the JEE (Main) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). All admission shall be on JEE (Main) All India Ranking.
For the B.Tech / B.Des programmes:
1. For NE Quota, 10+2 standard or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point, where applicable and pass marks or equivalent grade point in (1) Physics, (2) Mathematics, (3) Language, (4) Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology/ Technical vocational subject (any one of them), and (5) any other subject. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and differently-abled persons as per the Government of India rules. In the case of differently-abled persons, a minimum of 40% permanent disabilities will only be considered. Relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade point will be allowed for reserved category candidates as per rules. The applicants desiring a seat under NE quota require PRC (permanent residence certificate).
2. For All India Quota, 10+2 standard or equivalent examination with minimum 75% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL), and 65% (SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks or equivalent grade point, where applicable and pass marks or equivalent grade point in (1) Physics, (2) Mathematics, (3) Language, (4) Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical vocational subject (any one of them), and (5) any other subject. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS and differently-abled persons as per the Government of India rules. In the case of differently-abled persons, a minimum of 40% permanent disabilities will only be considered.
3. B. Des. admission will be based on valid UCEED (IITB) 2025/ NID B. Des.: DAT Prelim 2025, JEE (Mains: NTA) 2025 and TUEE 2025. 60% of the seats are reserved for NE states and 40% of seats will be filled from all India states. Out of the total 30 seats, 18 seats will be filled through UCEED 2025 score; 04 seats from JEE Mains 2025; 02 seats from NID B. Des.: DAT Prelims 2025; and 06 seats from TUEE 2025 score. In case of any vacant seats under UCEED 2025, JEE (Mains) 2025 and NID B. Des.: DAT Prelims 2025 categories, they will be filled through TUEE 2025 score.
4. For Department of Food Engineering and Technology will reserve 40% seats for JoSAA/CSAB, 30% for NE quota and 30% for CUET-UG.
For the B. Tech Lateral Entry programmes:
Passed minimum 3 years/2 years (Lateral Entry) diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST) in the respective branch of Engineering and Technology
Admission Process of the Post Graduate Programmes:
The Master of Technology in the Programme is a four semester full-time programme. The seats will be filled up through Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) or preference will be given to candidates having valid GATE scores or CUET-PG scores. Details of eligible criteria, intake of the students and fee structure are mentioned in the respective departmental website.
Admission Process of the Ph.D Programmes:
1. The seats will be filled up through Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) or preference will be given to candidates CUET-PG scores.
2. PhD admission under QIP (AICTE Quality Improvement PROGRAM) is based on notification from AICTE,
Govt. of India followed by admission procedure through online in the AICTE QIP portal through the
link: https://www.qip.aicte.gov.in/
3. Candidates who will be admitted to the PhD programs in School of Engineering and Management can
apply for AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. Candidates may contact Dean,
School of Engineering for further details.
4. PhD admission under Visvesvaraya scheme is based on notification from MeitY, Govt. of India followed
by admission procedure through online in the admission portal of Tezpur University through the
link: https://www.tezuadmissions.in/ by paying the application fee (non-refundable) through Debit Card / Credit Card/
Net banking @Rs.800/- per candidate (Rs.400/-for SC, ST and PWD candidates).
Selection procedure: The names of the candidates short listed for personal interview will be uploaded on the Tezpur University website. A consistently good academic career will be preferred, and selection will be made on the basis of overall academics, personal interview performance.
*Important Information*:
1. The selected candidates will have to produce all relevant documents in original at the time of admission. They shall have to submit a set of self attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates at the time of admission.
2. Migration Certificate in original have to submit at the time of admission.
