INTRODUCTION:

School of Engineering, Tezpur University was established in 2006. School of Engineering has ten Departments viz. Applied Sciences(ASc), Civil Engineering(CE), Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Energy(ENE), Design, Food Engineering & Technology (FET), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Vocational Studies & Skill Development. The various educational programmes offered by School of Engineering include Under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate(PG) and Ph.D programmes.

All these Departments have their own Academic building. There is also a common School of Engineering building with an approximate built-up area of 2980 Sq.m for use of all the Departments. Various common facilities are made available in this common building. These include Classrooms, Chemistry and Physics laboratories, Computer Centre, Gallery , Video Conferency Rooms, Language Laboratory, Smart Classrooms etc., Smart Lecture Halls are used for conducting common classes of School of Engineering and in the class rooms, Departmental classes are conducted. besides these, School of Engineering have one Microsoft Incubation Centre and Centre for Innovation, incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE). Office of the Dean, School of Engineering located in the common Building has its own office rooms and a conference room. One B.Tech Admission Cell for North-East category admission (BSSC), another one B.Tech admission Cell for JoSSA admission, one AICTE cell and an Examination control room are also located at this building.

B Tech MBA Programme:
A dual degree B.Tech. and MBA program combines the studies of engineering and management into a single, integrated course has been launched from the Academic Session 2025-26. This typically takes five years to complete, as opposed to the six years it would take if pursued separately. This Dual Degree program aims to integrate two different yet converging fields and allows students to learn about two areas that they are passionate about. This programme will increase their potential in both fields viz., Engineering and Management. Admission Process of the Under Graduate programmes:

The eligible candidates may apply for admission into different programmes of Tezpur University manually or online.

ELIGIBILITY:

B.Tech programmes:

Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech Programmes are required to appear in the JEE (Main) to me conducted by National Testing Agency. All admission shall be on JEE (Main) All India Ranking.

60% of available B.Tech seats are reserved for the permanent of north-East States (NE-State). Candidates who fill up Tezpur University application form shall be considered for the reserved seats. The applicants desiring a seat under NE quota must attach a PRC (permanent residence certificate) along with the form. However, these applicants shall be eligible to get admitted to the open seats through central counselling procedure.

Admission to the remaining 40% open seats shall be made through the central counselling based on JEE (Main).

Important Points:

For all B.Tech programmes, a candidate needs to apply in a single application form only (Online mode only).

Candidates who have already finished their qualifying examination, and those who are expected to complete all components of the examination including practical and viva (if any) before the date of admission may also apply (Please read the paragraph on "provisional admission" given hereafter for details).

Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech Programmes are required to be qualified in the JEE (Main) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). All admission shall be on JEE (Main) All India Ranking.

For the B.Tech / B.Des programmes:

1. For NE Quota, 10+2 standard or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point, where applicable and pass marks or equivalent grade point in (1) Physics, (2) Mathematics, (3) Language, (4) Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology/ Technical vocational subject (any one of them), and (5) any other subject. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and differently-abled persons as per the Government of India rules. In the case of differently-abled persons, a minimum of 40% permanent disabilities will only be considered. Relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade point will be allowed for reserved category candidates as per rules. The applicants desiring a seat under NE quota require PRC (permanent residence certificate).

2. For All India Quota, 10+2 standard or equivalent examination with minimum 75% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL), and 65% (SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks or equivalent grade point, where applicable and pass marks or equivalent grade point in (1) Physics, (2) Mathematics, (3) Language, (4) Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical vocational subject (any one of them), and (5) any other subject. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS and differently-abled persons as per the Government of India rules. In the case of differently-abled persons, a minimum of 40% permanent disabilities will only be considered.

3. B. Des. admission will be based on valid UCEED (IITB) 2025/ NID B. Des.: DAT Prelim 2025, JEE (Mains: NTA) 2025 and TUEE 2025. 60% of the seats are reserved for NE states and 40% of seats will be filled from all India states. Out of the total 30 seats, 18 seats will be filled through UCEED 2025 score; 04 seats from JEE Mains 2025; 02 seats from NID B. Des.: DAT Prelims 2025; and 06 seats from TUEE 2025 score. In case of any vacant seats under UCEED 2025, JEE (Mains) 2025 and NID B. Des.: DAT Prelims 2025 categories, they will be filled through TUEE 2025 score.

4. For Department of Food Engineering and Technology will reserve 40% seats for JoSAA/CSAB, 30% for NE quota and 30% for CUET-UG.

For the B. Tech Lateral Entry programmes:

Passed minimum 3 years/2 years (Lateral Entry) diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST) in the respective branch of Engineering and Technology

Admission Process of the Post Graduate Programmes:

The Master of Technology in the Programme is a four semester full-time programme. The seats will be filled up through Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) or preference will be given to candidates having valid GATE scores or CUET-PG scores. Details of eligible criteria, intake of the students and fee structure are mentioned in the respective departmental website.

Admission Process of the Ph.D Programmes:

1. The seats will be filled up through Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) or preference will be given to candidates CUET-PG scores.

2. PhD admission under QIP (AICTE Quality Improvement PROGRAM) is based on notification from AICTE, Govt. of India followed by admission procedure through online in the AICTE QIP portal through the link: https://www.qip.aicte.gov.in/

3. Candidates who will be admitted to the PhD programs in School of Engineering and Management can apply for AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. Candidates may contact Dean, School of Engineering for further details.

4. PhD admission under Visvesvaraya scheme is based on notification from MeitY, Govt. of India followed by admission procedure through online in the admission portal of Tezpur University through the link: https://www.tezuadmissions.in/ by paying the application fee (non-refundable) through Debit Card / Credit Card/ Net banking @Rs.800/- per candidate (Rs.400/-for SC, ST and PWD candidates).

Selection procedure: The names of the candidates short listed for personal interview will be uploaded on the Tezpur University website. A consistently good academic career will be preferred, and selection will be made on the basis of overall academics, personal interview performance.

1. The selected candidates will have to produce all relevant documents in original at the time of admission. They shall have to submit a set of self attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates at the time of admission.
