Dr. Praneeth Netrapalli Microsoft Research India Research Interest: Algorithms for Machine Learning |
Praneeth Netrapalli is currently a researcher at Microsoft Research India. Prior to joining MSR India, he spent two years as a postdoc at Microsoft Research New England. He received his PhD from UT Austin in 2014 under the guidance of Sujay Sanghavi, and B-Tech from IIT Bombay in 2007, all in Electrical Engineering. The main focus of his work is to design efficient and provable algorithms for various machine learning problems, often involving non-convex optimization. More recently, he has also started working on improving and parallelizing statistically optimal streaming algorithms.
