The Department of Sociology, Tezpur University in collaboration with ICSSR-NERC organized a national seminar on “Citizenship, Ethnicity and Nation State in North-East India” from 24-26th March 2019. The presentations interrogated the concept of citizenship in the context of North-East India. Intersections of ethnic identity, migration and citizenship were explored through the papers presented in the seminar. It also featured a special lecture by Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta from the Department of Political Science, Gauhati University.
