Prof. Ashok Kumar has been awarded as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry

Prof. Ashok Kumar,FRSC, Professor, Department of Physics, has been admitted by the Council to the Royal Society of Chemistry, as Fellow. He has become the first faculty of the Department of Physics, Tezpur University to received such a coveted award and is now entitled to use FRSC after his name. This award is a recognition to his relentless and dedication of work over the last two decades.

Dr. P Nath is selected by INSA to visit University of Hebrew, Jerusalem during July 2019

Dr. P. Nath, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, have been selected for INSA-bilateral exchange program 2019, to visit University of Hebrew, Jerusalem during July 2019. During visit to the University, Dr. Nath will interact with the Nano-Opto research group headed by Prof. Uriel Levy in the Department of Applied Physics

Ms. Pranjupriya Goswami has received Best Poster award

Ms. Pranjupriya Goswami, Research Scholar, Department of Physics has been awarded "Best poster for the discipline: Extragalactic Astronomy" in 37th annual meeting of Astronomical Society of India, held at Bengaluru for her poster entitled "Synchrotron spectral curvature of blazars as probe to understand electron diffusion".

Prof. A. Kumar is selected for the Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP). The programme starts from 11th February to 3rd March, 2019 which includes one week at Monash University,Melbourne, Australia.

Prof. P. Deb selected for the “National Bioscience Award for Career Development 2017/2018” by Ministry of Science \& Technology, Govt. of India.

Dr. Mridusmita Buragohain, Research Scholar, received the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Mridusmita Buragohain, Research Scholar, completed hetr Ph.D. under Dr. Gazi A. Ahmed bagged the prestigious awarded a fellowship under the "FY2019 JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (Standard)" program in the University of Tokyo, Japan.

Mr. Nilutpal Bora, Research Scholar,bagged the prestigious Raman-Charpak Fellowship for the year 2018

Mr. Nilutpal Bora, Research Scholar, pursuing Ph.D. under Dr. Rajib Biswas bagged the prestigious Raman-Charpak Fellowship for the year 2018. He will get the opportunity to pursue his further research work under the guidance of Prof. Pierre-Yves Bard, University of Grenoble Alpes, France, for a maximum period of six months.

Mr. Ranojit Barman, M.Sc. student, is selected under SITARE scheme to visit University of Southampton, U.K.

Mr. Ranojit Barman, pursuing M.Sc. in Physics, have been selected under SITARE scheme to visit University of Southampton, U.K. for 2 weeks from March 8 to March 24, 2019.

Ms. Namita Ojah Research Scholar, bagged Sholapurwala award.

Ms. Namita Ojah Research Scholar, pursuing Ph.D. under Dr. G.A. Ahmed bagged Sholapurwala award for poster presentation at PSSI, which was held at Delhi University from 4-7 th December, 2018 for outstanding work on engineering aspects of fusion science \& Technology done in India.

Mr. Iftak Hussain have been selected for 2018 "The Innovation Scholars In-Residence Program" at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Mr. Iftak Hussain, a Ph. D. scholar of the department of Physics, Tezpur Univeristy have been selected for 2018 "The Innovation Scholars In-Residence Program" and inivted to stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. The Innovation Scholar In-Residence Scheme is a unique program initiated by the former President Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The program promotes the spirit of innovation and gives further impetus to the grassroots innovation activities. The program aims at gaining motivation and exposure for strengthening innovators capacity to innovate. During this one-week program, Mr. Hussain will stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan andwill get an environment to discuss his innovative ideas forward by motivation, valuable guidance and mentoring support and exploring possible linkages with technical institutions. He will be provided with an opportunity to interact media people and required authorities along with the displaying of his product.

Dr. Nabanita Dutta joined as NASA Scientist

Department of Physics, Tezpur University congratulate Dr. Nabanita Dutta, former Ph. D. student who has joined as Research Associate in the Center for Nanotechnology, NASA Ames Research Center, Building N239, Moffett Field California. Her research area is "Nano-composite based printed electronics for energy storage devices".

Mr. Deep Kumar Kuri begs Buti Young Scientist Award 2017

Buti Young Scientist Award 2017 has been awarded to Mr. Deep Kumar Kuri, affiliated to Tezpur University for his paper entitled "Cyclotron effects on hot electron generation and their role in proton acceleration by a short pulse circularly polarized laser from overdense plasmas" adjudged as the best presentation in the Buti Young Scientist Session of the PLASMA-2017 (32nd National Symposium On Plasma Science & Technology) organized by the Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI) and the Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from 7-10 November, 2017.
