Program outcomes

PO1: The course will deliver expertise in Feminist Research Methodology.
PO2: The course will provide job opportunities in the field of women and child sector, NGOs, Govt. schemes, counsellors in organization, feminist counselling and Industry.
PO3: The course will focus on interpretation, conceptualization and application of principles of women studies in areas related to public policy, gender discourses and governance.

Course Code: WS103, Course Title: Women’s Movement in India
The course will give understanding on women in history in India.
The student will be enlightened with the knowledge of women’s role in nation making.
The student will gain knowledge on issues like women and ethnicity, customary laws, women in conflict situation with special reference to northeast India.

Course Code: WS104, Course Title: Introducing Women’s Studies
Through this course student will gain knowledge on basic concepts and ideologies of women studies.
This course will give idea of women’s movement in the west.
This course will provide inputs on importance of women studies in higher education of India.

Course Code: WS105, Course Title : Women in Media
This course will enable the students to critically analyse the representation of women in media.
This course will enhance knowledge of the students on media and social development, idea of alternative media and media as an agent of change.
The students will learn to analyse the women’s role in folk tradition of Assam.

The course will help students to critically analyse the health and gender issues.
The student will get the idea of women’s occupational health, mental health and reproductive health status.
The student will be able to critically analyse the health policies and legal issues related to women’s health.
