On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024, Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women’s Studies , Tezpur University organized a poetry Recitation competition on 15th march, 2024. At first Dr. Mousumi Mahanta faculty, CSCWS,Tezpur University addressed the programme by defining the topic “Parichay” Utpalini Dutta presented a poem, “Women’s Identity” where she talked about how societal norms suppressed the identity of a woman. Another participant Krishnapriya recites her self-written poem “Sorosito” about educational values safeguarding their identity. Another poem recitation was carried out by Saswati about indomitable spirit, breaking all the barriers and self-realization of a women. The next participant Krishnasmita Kalita recited her poem, “Nari aru Xakhyorita” about purity and impurity. The second last participant Sutrishna recited her poem about the struggles of a woman in the society. The last participant Hiya Gogoi recited her poem which defines the time barrier for girls and how our safety is questioned.
