On 7th March 2025, Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Studies, Tezpur University organized a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day, bringing together notable guests from various departments, students, and the female working staff of the hostels. 116 number of female hostel workers attended the programme.The event featured a series of cultural performances, including a song and a dance drama highlighting women’s resilience and struggles. An informative presentation on health and hygiene emphasized the importance of self-care, followed by a yoga session promoting overall well-being. A special interactive session with the female hostel workers provided them with a platform to share their experiences and challenges, fostering meaningful discussions on their contributions and rights. As a gesture of appreciation, gifts were presented to the hostel staff, recognizing their dedication. The program concluded with the screening of a documentary on the lives of Sudanese women, offering insights into their hardships and perseverance. The event not only celebrated women’s achievements but also reinforced the need for inclusivity, awareness, and collective empowerment within the institution.
