On 8th March 2019, Dr. Madhurima Goswami, Head, Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Studies, Tezpur University was invited by the 30 Battalion,CRPF, Chariduar for felicitating her on the occasion of International Women’s Day, 2019. Dr. Ivy Daimary, Research Associate, Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Studies, Tezpur University also attended the programme. 30 Battalion,CRPF invited 8 women from various fields and felicitated them. First of all, an army personnel delivered a talk on menstrual taboos. Then the 8 invited women of great personnel like doctors, school principals, athlete, professor etc. were invited on the dais one after the another, felicitated and were given time to address the gathering. All the invited guests encouraged the house specially the students to live a gender balanced life and some of them motivated the students to take their career seriously. At the end the Lieutenant Commandant, CRPF, offered the vote of thanks and wind up the programme.
