Centre organized a vibrant cycle rally titled Pink Sundays on Cycle on 9th March 2025

On the occasion of International Women’s Week, on the initiation of Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Study, Tezpur University organized a vibrant cycle rally titled Pink Sundays on Cycle on 9th March 2025. The event was held in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Tezpur University, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) as a part of the FIT INDIA PROGRAMME. The rally aimed to promote women’s empowerment, health, and fitness, aligning with the broader objectives of the Fit India Movement. Around 100 students enthusiastically participated in the event, cycling through the university campus with slogans and banners advocating for gender equality and healthy living. The event was graced by Vishwajeet Sengupta, Young Professional from the Sports Authority of India, Regional Centre, Guwahati, who attended as the Chief Guest. Professor Nabin Sarma, ADSW Tezpur University, Rajkumar Raju Singh , Assistant Director of Physical Education, Tezpur University and Abhijeet Baishya , Professional Assistant, Centre for Women Studies Tezpur University were present in the event. The rally commenced from the university’s community hall, covering a well-planned route across the campus before concluding at the same location. Participants, both male and female, pedalled together in solidarity, symbolizing collective efforts towards a healthier and more inclusive society. The success of Pink Sundays on Cycle reinforced Tezpur University’s commitment to promoting gender equality and healthy living, making it a memorable and impactful event during International Women’s Week.
