Dr Mousumi Mahanta delivered an invited talk on “ Gender and Mental Health’  in Girijananda Chowdhury University on 6th November 2024.She  brought her extensive knowledge and experience to address various aspects of gender and its impact on mental health.

Dr. Mahanta delivered an engaging lecture on understanding gender identity from biological, psychological, and sociocultural perspectives, highlighting mental health disparities across gender groups, the crucial role of social support in gender and mental health and the importance of gender-sensitive mental healthcare.

Prof. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal of SOPS, GCU-Tezpur campus in his welcome speech emphasized the relevance of this topic in today’s society, underscoring the need for increased awareness and understanding to support those facing gender-specific mental health challenges.
