Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Studies Tezpur University organised an awareness programme on Cyber Security and Youth in Collaboration with Women Cell,Tetso College,Dimapur on 12th March 2021 in the Women’s Week. Mr.Abhijit Baishya, Professional Assistant,Centre for Women Studies,Tezpur University was the speaker of the programme.100 students participated in the programme. Mr Baishya gave a ppt presentation on Cyber-crimes, explaining different cyber terms and their meanings citing examples. Mr.Baishya explained how the youths can be victims of cyber crimes which is rising day by day. He explained the terms like sextortion, reverse image, dark web etc. The speaker also discussed about preventive measures of cyber-crimes. Mr.Baishya informed the participants regarding National Cyber Crime Bureo and its helpline number,155260. The participants interacted with the speaker asking questions on dark web and hacking problems etc. Mr.Baishya answered all the questions explaining how those problems can be prevented.
