Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women Studies, Tezpur University organized a Legal Awareness Programme on “Women and Legal Rights” on 15th June,2023 at Tolgeriki,Tezpur. 40 number of women participated in the programme. Dr. Mousumi Mahanta, faculty from Centre for Women Studies explained the agenda of the programme. Dr. Mahanta stressed on the importance of knowlegde of Legal rights of women and old age. Dr. Mahanta highlighted on the negligence of legal rights by many women in the society. Gyamar Rina, a student of Women Studies Centre gave a presentation on old age health rights. She discussed on various schemes: Anna Yojana, Jyotismann Asom, Arundhati, and Comprehensive Social Security Scheme. Pragyalisha Goswami, a student, presented on Sexual Harassment of women in workplace. She discussed on Sexual Harassment and its effect in workplace. She also discussed on types of sexual harassment, cybercrime and Offence under the IT Act 2000.Tajoswita Kalita, a student, presented on Women health issues under law and menstrual hygiene. She talked about pre –natal diagnostic technology Act, 1994, medical termination on pregnancy Act,1974, and funding pattern under NHM
