About NCARe Centre:

Nutrition and Community Action Resource (NCARe) Centre is a State Nutrition Resource Centre attached to the Department of Social Work, Tezpur University. The Centre is envisaged to complement the efforts of the Government of Assam under POSHAN Abhiyaan by fostering collaboration, designing technical courses, documentation of good practices, supporting technical trainings, facilitating convergence, demonstrations of models, and concurrent monitoring and independent evaluations for effective programme implementation.

Vision

NCARe Centre works in tandem with POSHAN ABHIYAAN, and supports initiatives to strengthen the coverage, continuity, quality and intensity of high impact nutrition interventions.

Objectives of NCARe Centre:

• To contribute to knowledge and capacity development; policy dialogue; strengthen quality assurance; design innovations to enhance programme reach and efficiency; and address inequities related to nutrition outcomes in Assam.
• To assume the role of a technical support unit to POSHAN ABHIYAAN in the field of Nutrition.
• To strengthen multi-sectoral collaboration with government departments, academia, civil society organizations who are working in field of nutrition.
• To support POSHAN ABHIYAAN to take forward its mandate, with focus on Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN), management of malnutrition, improving adolescent and women’s nutrition
