Tezpur University, a Central
University, was established in
1994 under an act of Parliament.
It has set the goal of
establishing itself as a
scientific and technological
institution par excellence with
vibrant academic and research
activities in the frontier areas
of science and technology. It is
a growing university with about
2500 students and over 200
faculty members at present. Over
the years Tezpur University has
emerged as a premier institution
of the region providing
leadership and innovation in the
field of higher education. The
University now has sixteen
academic departments and one
centre
