About Institutional Biotech Hub, Tezpur University
IBT Hub was established in the Department with the mandate to contribute to the advancement of the emerging area of Disease Biology and to create trained manpower in the field of Biotechnology. It organized hands on trainings and workshops in basic and advanced areas like genetic engineering, cell culture, gene expression, microbiology, immunology and plant tissue culture. Participants of these programs included Faculty, Clinicians, Technical Staff, Research Scholars and Students of the neighbouring Institutes and of the University. Outreach programs and Seminars were also organized which have added another dimension to the activities of Biotech Hub. Hub has also been extending support to the research and teaching programs of the Department with infrastructure, technical and consumable support. IBT Hub has one completed PhD thesis, one ongoing PhD thesis, Seven M.Sc. Dissertations and Five publications to its credit.
