The ONGC-Center for Petroleum Biotechnology (ONGC-CPBT) at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBBT) was established in 1999 with financial support from the Oil and Natural Gas Co-operation by entering into a MOU. Finally in 30th april, shaped into a permanent Centre. Since permanent the Centre has taken up a number of research projects. The goal of the centre to conduct research in the field of petroleum biotechnology and develop skilled human resource.
