Professor Mihir K Chaudhuri on the MHRD TASK FORCE

   
         
   

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has constituted a Task Force for implementation of the recommendations of the Committee constituted to evolve a comprehensive policy on the issue of Autonomy of Central Educational Institutions and the recommendations of the Core Committee of Central Universities' Vice Chancellors on several critical areas affecting University education.

It may be mentioned that Professor Chaudhuri was also a member on the Committee constituted by the MHRD in August, 2010 to evolve a comprehensive policy on the issues of Autonomy of Central Educational Institutions like the Central Universities, IITs and the IIMs.

The Task Force shall identify key action points and prepare a road map for achieving the same on the basis of the recommendations of the two important Committees constituted earlier by the Government of India on several critical areas affecting University Education viz., Assistance to few outstanding Universities to make it globally competitive, Credit Transfer, Student Mobility, Common Entrance Test, Teacher's Training, Faculty Sharing, Four Year B.A./B.Sc./B.Ed Programmes, Code of Conduct and Optimum use of Public Assets besides the recommendations of the Committee on the policy of Autonomy to Central Educational Institutes.

The other members of the Task Force constituted with Shri Ashok Kumar Thakur Special Secretary, MHRD, as the Chairman, include, Professor Ved Prakash, Chairman, UGC, Professor SS Mantha, Chairman AICTE, Shri Sunil Kumar, Additional Secretary (TE) MHRD, Shri N.K Sinha, Additional Secretary (TEL), MHRD, Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia, Professor Deepak Pental, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi and Shri Anant Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary (CU), MHRD.
