Development of methods/ techniques which are easily acceptable and adaptable to communities at an affordable cost especially for the people living in rural and semi-urban areas of North Eastern Region of India in terms of

• Safe drinking water, sanitation
• Roads, soil stabilization
• Landslide mitigation, river bank protection

Development/or improvement of overall construction materials and technology using non conventional materials (e.g. wastes generated from the domestic and industrial sector) to ensure minimal adverse impact on the environment.
