The Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system has opened up exciting vistas of learning for those who believe that learning is a life- long process. Those who are or were not in a position to complete their education through the traditional mode of learning, and those who would like to enhance their knowledge and expertise in various fields, are immensely benefitted from ODL programmes. Tezpur University has been trying to fulfil its mandate by introducing ODL programmes in a phased manner through the Centre for Open and Distance Learning. The University has already initiated certain moves to expand its activities and introduce such programmes that may cater for the need of a majority of our prospective learners. We sincerely believe that inputs from our learners and well-wishers will help us to design our programmes in a more efficient and learner –friendly manner.
