Programs Conducted By NSS
Various projects of NSS are accomplished in coordination with voluntary organisations. NSS can provide services such as Cleanliness drive, Health awareness programmes, literacy & other related programme. Presently there are 2.7 million volunteers woking with NSS all over the country. The duration of NSS scheme as an NSS volunteer is for two years. Apart form the NSS special camp in day camps volunteers take short duration study projects. The breakup for orientation, Campus work and Community service are 20 hrs. of orientation and 100 hrs. of community service.
Blood Donation Camp
On 19th September 2010 NSS Cell Tezpur Univeristy in collaboration with Rotary Club, Tezpur organized a blood donation camp in the new health cnetre , Tezpur Unvieristy. Honourable Registrar, TU and Deputy Director, Deptt. Of Health, Sontipur District were the Guest of Honour in that prograame. Many enthusiatics volunteers came to dontate blood but around seventy of them found to be fit to donate blood. So around seventy units of blood were collected on that day.
NSS Day Celebration
Like every year this year also NSS Cell, Tezpur University celebrated NSS Day on 24th September 2010. A whole day programme was organized on the same day. Early in the morning volunteers cleaned the university campus and sensitize people on keeping the university clean and green. In the afternoon volunteers planted around 400 saplings and campaigned for a green campus. NSS cell , TU already has launched a campaign Go Green and a plastic bag free campus. In the evening Honorable Vice Chancellor, Tezpur University inaugurated the cultural function where volunteers performed dance, song and skit. One open house quiz was organized on that evening and more than 500 students participated in the competition. Prizes were distributed for different competition organized such as inter institutional debate competition and painting competition. Finally the programme ended with a vote of thanks from the programme coordinator, NSS Cell, Tezpur University.
Sadbhavana Diwas observed
Sadbhavana Diwas was observed by the NSS Cell, Tezpur University on 20th August 2010. Where Hon. Registrar took the pledge and many member of the university community joined the programme. As a part of the Sadbhavana fortnight observation debate and art competitions were organized among school children and university students.
Independence Day Celebration
On the eve of independance day, NSS organized a walkathon in the university.
Run For unity
On 31 october 2014 NSS Cell Tezpur Univeristy organised a run for unity to celebrate birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as "Rashtriya Ekta Diwaas".The run was joined by almost all the teachers and students.The run was inaugrated by the hon'ble Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Amarjyoti Choudhury and was joined by all the respected T.U fraternity members
Visit to PRAGATI WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION
Our volunteers interacted with the memberS of Pragati Women's Association of the university and tried to know their problem and ways of solving them.
SURVEY OF AMOLAPAM VILLAGE
A survey was conducted in the adjoining village of the University named AMOLAPAM village.
Launching of SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN
NSS observed the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan initiated by our hon'ble Prime Minister of India in the University for 6 days.
Visiting NABA-PRABHAT ORPHANAGE
NSS volunteers collected a huge amount of money from entire University to donate in the NABA-PRABHAT Orphanage to celebrate Children's Day.
Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwaas
Observed in the University on the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A walkathon in the University was observed in the morning and a play was conducted by us to spread the message to promote unity among ourselves.
On October 14,2014, first exam of the semester for 3rd semester was conducted.
MAJULI & LAKHIMPUR FLOOD RELIEF
From the University, our NSS volunteers in association with TUSC collected large amount of donation from the University fraternity. Along with TUSC members, two volunteers, JITESH KUMAR and PREM SHANKAR KUMAR of Mechanical Engineering were selected from NSS to visit and help the affected areas of Lakhimpur and Majuli.Many juniors leaded by Pradumnya borah,CSB14018 and Nabbdip borah,CSB14019 also enthusiastically and voluntarily helped in collecting clothes and money from the University.
On November2,2014, semester examination was conducted for all the NSS volunteers.
SPECIAL CAMPING PROGRAMME
Some volunteers of the NSS were selected to participate in the Special Camping Programme for 6 days for serving in NSS on a regular basis.
