The mess management system is very well structured with ordered organization of the stuff. The hostel mess is run by a mess committee consisting of the warden as chairman, prefect, assistant prefect. The committee is headed by a mess convenor who is responsible for the overall management of the mess.The mess convenor is appointed by the warden in consultation with the prefect and assistant prefect.
The mess convener appoints three to four mess managers in each month for running the mess. The mess mananager need to appear in frequent audits arranged by the mess committee to ensure proper utilization of the mess fund.The mess managers must strictly follow a food menu prepared by the mess convener.
There is also a provision to serve guests with a nominal guest charge. The hygine of the kitchen and quality of the food is routinly supervised. For drinking water, 2 aqua guards and one water coller are maintained by the hostel staff.
