A Fortnightly Lecture Series organized by Research Scholars and MA students of the Department of Cultural Studies, Tezpur University

  • 1st Session (14-09-2017): In the inaugural session, Prof. Debarshi Prasad Nath, Head, Dept. of Cultural Studies, delivered a lecture on “India and the Tradition of Intellectual Heterodoxy”.

  • 2nd Session (10-10-2017): Dr. Parasmoni Dutta, Assistant Professor of Dept. of Cultural Studies delivered his talk on “Decoding "NAGEN": Local Politics of Laughter in Cyber Communication”.

  • 3rd Session (24-10-2017): Arpita Dowarah presented a paper titled “Mother tongue school among the tribal community of Assam- Case study among the Singpho community of Assam.”

  • 4th Session (31-10-2017): Prof. Chandan Kumar Sharma from Dept. of Sociology delivered a talk on “Conceptualizing North East India: A Case of Region Formation”.

  • 5th Session (31-01-2018): Prof. Debarshi Prasad Nath, Dept. of Cultural Studies delivered a talk on “Mob violence in India”.

  • 6th Session (14-02-2018): Dr. Arup Kumar Nath, Assistant Professor from Dept. of English and Foreign Language delivered a talk on “Language Endangerment, Linguistic Human Rights, Language Policies and North East India”.

  • 7th Session (21-02-2018): Prof. Kali Prasad Sarma from Dept. of Environmental Science delivered a talk on “Wetlands of Assam”.

  • 8th Session (28-02-2018): Dr. Rabin Deka, Dept. of Sociology delivered a talk on the topic “Barpeta Kirtan Ghar and the question of women's entry”.

  • 9th Session (06-03-2018): Papori Medhi, an alumnus from the National School of Drama gave a “Performed Conversation” on Construction of “Beauty” and “Good” in the society.

  • 10th Session (10-08-2018): A talk entitled “Korean Approach Towards Heritage Management” was given by Dr. Subhra Devi, Assistant Curator of Museum, Dept. of Cultural Studies.

  • 11th Session (25-09-2018): Mr. Debajit K. Sarmah, Assistant Professor from Dept. of Law delivered his talk on “Cultural Rights as Human Rights”.
