Students and faculty members of the Department undertook a one-day field visit to the Gargaon village of the Dharikati, Chariduar area of Sonitpur District of Assam. In this brief field exposure, the students were made to acquire first-hand experience of the traditional life-world of the Mishing community of the Gargaon village: their select material cultural practices and glimpses of their daily life.
