An international webinar on Dance and Community: Sense of belonging through Performance was organized by Department of Cultural Studies, TU on 6 March 2021. The webinar was sponsored by the ICSSR-NERC, Shillong.

The three keynote speakers in the webinar were Dr. Barbara Snook, Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries in the University of Auckland, New Zealand; Dr. Urmimala Sarkar Munchi, Associate Professor, School of Arts and Aestetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Nehru and Ms. Bimbavati Devi, Guest Faculty of Manipuri Dance at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.

Professor Vinod Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University inaugurated the webinar through a pre-recorded inaugural speech in absentia. Professor Prasanta Kumar Das, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, TU, spoke as the Guest of Honour.

The webinar was coordinated by Dr. Juri Gogoi Konwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Cultural Studies. The proceeding of the webinar was moderated by Dr. Parasmoni Dutta, Head, Department of Cultural Studies.
