  • Snake Venom Biochemistry, Venomics, Antivenomics and Quality assessment of antivenom of Indian cobra and Russell’s Viper

Mechanism of action of snake venom toxins (particular reference to PLA2, three-finger family of toxins, L-amino acid oxidase, snaclec, nerve growth factor and proteases) from Russell’s viper and cobra venom,  management of snakebite, pharmacological screening of medicinal plants for snakebite treatment, analysis of venom proteomes, antivenomics.

  • Environmental Biotechnology and Industrial Microbiology

Industrially important microbial enzymes, solid-waste management, bioremediation of petroleum oil hydrocarbons in soil and water, microbial biodesulfurization.

  • Drug Discovery from Natural Resources

Pharmaceutical and diagnostic applications of snake venom toxins and proteins, therapeutic application of bacterial proteins and medicinal plants in the prevention and/or treatment of thrombosis and hyperfibrinogenemia related cardiovascular disorders, diagnostic application of nerve growth factor and α-neurotoxin bounded nanoparticle for endogenous detection of cancer.
