1000 kWp Rooftop Grid Connected Solar Power Plant at University
Concept, Planning, Design, Government approval, PPA with developer, performance analysis by using PVSyst Simulation tool, execution support towards installation of the project. The project is under Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Scheme and sanctioned on 14-03-2018 under RESCO mode. University made the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the developer i.e. Arunachal Pradesh Power Corporation Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi for 25 years at a flat tariff of Rs. 2.42/kWh. The system is installed in 15 buildings' roof space. The installation of the project completed in the month of September, 2018. Tezpur University is the first Academic Institution to have MW Scale Rooftop Grid connected Solar PV power plant in the entire North Eastern Region of the country. The power plant generated 46.09 lakhs units of electricity during October 2018 – January 2023. University met 23 % of its electricity requirements from solar power plants during this period. University also reduced an amount of Rs 190 lakhs in the electricity bill due to the installation of solar power plants in the University and 3779 MT CO2 emission mitigation.
20 kWp Off-grid/Hybrid Photovoltaic Power Plant under AICTE GAINER Scheme at Tezpur University The off-grid/hybrid solar power plant is designed to provide backup power to two (2) computer center located at Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Dean, School of Engineering Building. Each of the power plant has the capacity of 10 kWp and can cater 8 kW load for 6 hours’ backup. The generated power from the photovoltaic module will be stored in the battery and the power from the battery shall be used during power-cut for the load of the computer center. This project is sanctioned by AICTE under the GAINER Scheme.
2.5 kWp Off-Grid Photovoltaic Power Plant for Lighting Load of Swimming Pool of the University The off-grid/hybrid solar power plant is designed to provide backup power to the lighting load of the Swimming Pool of the University. The generated power from the photovoltaic module will be stored in the battery and the power from the battery shall be used during power-cut for the lighting load of the swimming pool. This project is funded by the University.
