Students' Achievements


  • Avik Ghosh, an alumnus (2019-21) of the MTech in Energy Technology Program at the Department, is currently pursuing his PhD at IIT Hyderabad. He has been selected for the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship, which is the most prestigious fellowship in India for PhD students.
  • Vivek Prasad, an alumnus (2020-22) of the MTech in Energy Technology Program at the Department, is currently pursuing his PhD at IIT Guwahati. He has been selected for the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship, which is the most prestigious fellowship in India for PhD students.
  • Ujjiban Kakati, Alumnus (2018-20) of MTech in Energy Technology of the Department, who is pursuing PhD at IIT Delhi has been selected for the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship. This is the most prestigious fellowship in India for PhD Students.
  • Adity Bora, PhD Student and Alumna (2016-2018) has been selected SERB-Purdue Overseas Visiting Doctoral Fellowship for the year 2021. She is working with Prof Jay P Gore, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University, USA. The fellowship duration is for 12 months.   • Angsu Plavan Nath, Alumnus (2017-19) of MTech in Energy Technology of the Department, who is pursuing PhD at IIT Bombay selected as Prime Minister's Research Fellow. This is the most prestigious fellowship in India for PhD Students. He will receive Rs 70,000/- per month as a fellowship and Rs 2 lakhs per year as a research grant.
