Research activity in the Department of CSE

  

The department is carrying out research, primarily in the following areas-

     Bioinformatics
     Biomimetic and Cognitive Robotics
     Computer and Network Security
     Data Mining
     Image Processing and Pattern Recognition
     Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
     Natural Language Processing
     Networks
     Optimization Techniques
     Workflow Analysis

These cover two of the most important broad areas of activity in the realm of computer science and engineering, viz., machine intelligence and networking. The faculty members have been able to secure external sponsors for some projects in the above areas. The value of current (year 2012) such sponsored projects is over 3 crores. This includes DRS-I funding under UGC's SAP, and funding from DST, DIT and AICTE.

Most of the research efforts of the Department have led to impressive outcome in the form of valuable publications and peer recognition. The Department strives to establish itself as a centre of excellence in research in these areas in the near future.
