Contributions to Technical Education:

1.  As the Founder Director of NIT Meghalaya started the institute in the home state from scratch. Within five years, despite the disadvantages of its remote location the Institute managed to secure a very respectable national rank in 2016, as declared by NIRF.

2.  As the Initiator and the Founder Dean of School of Engineering at Tezpur University played key role in establishing the Engineering School at Tezpur University.

3.  As Head of the Department of Computer Science at Tezpur University for 10 years long crucial period helped it establish itself as a leading centre for computer science education in the region.

4.  As Professor In-charge of the Computer Centre at Tezpur University for more than 10 years helped in setting-up of the IT infrastructure and in creating the computing culture in the University.

5.  As founder faculty member of the Department of Computer Engineering & Application at Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat, Assam during 1987-1995 played a key role in establishing one of the first centres of Computer Science education in the region and in starting of BE(CSE) and MCA programme in the region.
