Tezpur University Computer Society

The Tezpur University Computer Society (TUCS) was formed on 17 June 1997 with Prof D K Saikia as the President and Dr R K Das as the Secretary. Prof K M Pathak, the then Vice Chancellor, was the Advisor. The idea was to have a forum for undertaking co-curricular activities in the area of Computer Science. The students, faculty members and technical personnels of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and the Computer Center are the members of the Society. Other interested persons can join TUCS by paying the membership fees and following specified procedure.

TUCS has organised lectures by eminent persons from academic institutions and the industry, corporate trainings, and events such as quizzes, software contests, etc. In 2002 the annual event named CompuBlast was started. It was organised in the subsequent years though with breaks in between. CompuBlast 2008 was organised with an enhanced list of items.
