Tezpur District Museum

The Tezpur District museum is one of the 12 state museums of Assam located in the heart of Tezpur town. The Museum was established on 16th March 1986 under the Directorate of Museums, Guwahati, Assam. Earlier, the museum was put up in Darrang College, then shifted to Tezpur Sahitya Sabha and finally in the year 2002, the museum was finally shifted and set up permanently in the British historic building ‘Dak- Bungalow’.. The museum has more than 555 number of objects. It consists of a wide collection of antiquities, sculptures, manuscripts, copper plate inscriptions, manuscripts, Ahom period cannons and craft of various communities and satra institutions.
