As mandated, the Centre for Inclusive Development has been putting all out efforts to achieve the objective of facilitating a platform for equal growth for students of Tezpur University. Towards this end, the Centre has been conducting various training and other capacity development programmes including academic and action research. The ongoing PG Diploma in Child Rights and Governance being offered in partnership with UNICEF-Assam is expected to significantly impact the society, particularly to reinforce child-friendly environment in diverse socio-cultural spheres.
The programme on Child Rights and Governance pays equal attention to both theoretical and practical learning for the students in order to impart a wholesome knowledge of the domain. Although many policies are drafted and executed for children, there are still miles to go in creating an enabling environment for each child to enjoy his or her inalienable rights. Thus, the Centre is committed towards creating a pool of professionals to who will in turn utilise their skills to ensure a just and fair world for children of our society. In this effort, the Centre has also collaborated with many governmental and non-governmental bodies working in the field.
Apart from this, the Certificate Course of Technical Writing imparted advanced skills in writing using nuanced technologies. It is noteworthy that a number of alumni of this programme have already embarked on their professional journey, a few of them leading their entrepreneurial initiatives.
The Centre also endeavours to reach out to the society, particularly children and youth of the underprivileged groups, and support for their advancement through voluntary activities, projects and action research.
