About Training
Bioinformatics Infrastructure facility has earned the reputation of providing top quality, cutting-edge short term trainings, and six month dissertations presented by the knowledgeable and experienced practitioners in the field of Bioinformatics, Computational Biophysics etc. The center focuses on the hands on training sessions with latest technology advances, and is continually researching and developing new courses to enhance the quality. The Institute's instructors are specialized personnel whose experience brings practical insight and invaluable knowledge.
Training Offered
Traineeship/Studentship: This is an initiative by Department of Biotechnology DBT ,to train young motivated students who want to pursue a carrier in the field of Bioinformatics . For this a student is selected based on his/her performance in the interview. The position is for 6 months and a stipend of Rs.5000 is given to the trainees.

Four weeks/Summer Training:
Short term training programs are imparted in the month of May to June at the graduate/post graduate/research level. The program consists of different areas of Bioinformatics or Computational Biology based on the candidate's interest area. Notifications are released between march -april month.

Six Months Dissertations:
The center considers the requests for project work towards partial fulfillment of the respective graduate/postgraduate degrees (of at least SIX months duration; session I: Jul-Dec; session II: Jan-Jun)(Only when the candidate has taken a written permission from the controller of the institute) for a limited number of students of graduate/postgraduate courses of Indian universities for access to its research facilities under the supervision of High End Researchers/Professors. The minimal eligibility criterion for consideration of the requests is first division or an equivalent grade or at least 60% of aggregate scores in all major examinations starting from secondary examination onwards. The requests are required to be routed through the contact person enclosing the academic resume of the recommended student(s) and mentioning the duration and the period of proposed project work. The requests so received are considered on the basis of available vacancies.
Customized training programs can be tailored to meet any university or colleges specific needs for undergraduate students on special consideration.
Who Should Apply
The eligibility criteria for the students for applying for the different training programs are as follows:
- B.Sc/M.Sc Students appearing in their final semester exams with at least an average of 60% marks through out their academic profile.
- Students pursuing M. Tech./M.Sc I-II semester with at least an average of 60% marks through out their academic profile.
Note: Selection will be based on the academic records of all the passed examinations.

Interested candidates are requested to visit the website for registering online and submitting their documents as desired. Any information related to the admission procedure will also be displayed on the website.
