5th ALUMNI MEET of TUAA was held on 9th September, 2004 in TU Campus. The meet was graced by
internationally acclaimed scientist, Prof. U. R. Rao as chief guest. Prof. P. C. Deka , new president of
TUAA and Honb'le Vice-Chancellor, Tezpur University welcome honb'le guest Prof. Rao , all the alumini
and other distinguished guests present in the meet. Dr Nayandeep Deka Barua, treasurer TUAA, read out
the report according to which the current fund position of TUAA was Rs.3.5 lakh appprox. Some major
decisions were taken in the general body meeting:
- To provide tution fees of two financially challenged students of post graduate programs of Tezpur
University
- To provide Registration fee or TA/DA or both to two research scholars, for presenting papers in
National and International conferences/ workshops etc held in India provided the other funding
sources like DST, CSIR, TU etc are approached but failed.
- Initiation for opening up of local chapters in other cities of India or abroad under the framework
of the constitution of TUAA.
