Sushant Kumar Behera
DST-INSPIRE Senior Research Fellow
sushant@tezu.ernet.in

Sushant Kumar Behera has joined in this group in July 2014 as a doctoral student. He has completed his masters in Physics with Condensed Matter Physics as specialization from Tezpur University in June 2014. He has qualified GATE 2014 and CSIR (NET)-JRF December 2018 in Physics. He has been awarded DST-INSPIRE Fellowship, Govt. of India to carry out his doctoral research in May, 2015. His research interest focuses on two dimensional (2D) homogeneous and heterostructure nonmagnetic materials. He is investigating electronic structure and induced magnetic properties of such 2D materials for potential applications implementing ab initio density functional theory (DFT) and tight-binding (TB) code. He is also studying the thermodynamically stable state of these materials using Born-Oppenheimer Molecular Dynamics (BOMD).
