Applications in prescribed form are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the following programmes of studies for the session 2010-11.

Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management Sciences/ Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Master’s degree in the azllied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 55% of marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree. B.E./B. Tech. with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent GPA with valid GATE score. A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or foreign institution with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Details of the requisite qualification for admission and area of research are available in the website www. tezu. ernet. in). |
Provisional Admission: Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in the qualifying examination in 2010 can also apply. They will be admitted provisionally if otherwise found eligible at the entrance examination. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination must complete their qualifying examinations in all respects by the date of admission. Such candidates if selected for admission will have to produce the evidence of completion of the examinations on the day of admission. If admitted such candidates will be required to submit the evidence of passing the qualifying examination fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria by 31st October, 2010.
Selection: (i) B. Tech. Programme - on the basis of performance in the All India Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the CBSE to be held on April 25, 2010. The candidates who have applied for the AIEEE and belong to NE states are eligible to apply for admission to this university against NE seats for which counselling will be held at Tezpur University. Candidates against the open seats will be admitted through central counselling conducted by CBSE and need not apply separately to Tezpur University. Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 10 positions in the higher secondary Board/ Council Examination at the aggregate of 85% or more will be directly admitted in the discipline of his/her choice with free studentship. Free studentship shall also be available to top 10% of the students admitted to the B.Tech. programme based on AIEEE score.
(ii)PG Degree, Diploma and Certificate programme – on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination conducted by Tezpur University and/or interview. Candidates with valid GATE score of 330 (250 for SC/ST) or higher in relevant subjects shall be considered for direct admission in the M.Tech. programmes in Information Technology, Electronics Design and Technology, and Bioelectronics
(iii) Ph. D. programme – on the basis of written test and personal interview. Candidates will have to report to the Heads of the concerned departments on the dates specified in the prospectus for written test and personal interview.
(iv)Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/PWD (Persons with Disability) candidates: As per Central Govt. rules. In cases of M. Tech. programmes in Information Technology, Energy Technology, Electronics Design and Technology and Bioelectronics, some seats are reserved for sponsored candidates. However, they have to qualify Tezpur University Entrance Examination 2010.

Road), Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jorhat, Kohima , Kolkata, North Lakhimpur, Nowgaon, Patna, Pune, Shillong, Silchar, Siliguri , Tezpur, Tinsukia, ( for addresses please visit TU web-site: www.tezu.ernet.in) by paying Rs.520/- (for SC/ST Rs. 270/-) only in cash, (ii) through post by sending a bank draft of Rs. 560/- ( For SC/ST Rs. 310/-) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur and a self addressed unstamped envelope of size 36cm x 25cm, (iii) in person by paying Rs. 500/- (for SC/ST Rs. 250/-) only to the University cash counter in Finance Section ( the case counter will be open from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on all working days i.e. from Monday to Friday), (iv) by down loading from Tezpur University web-site. The downloaded application form must be accompanied with a bank draft of Rs.500/- (for SC/ST Rs. 250/-) only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur.
